On June 13, 1987 Wes Deane and his WSO John "JJ" Jordan crashed while working with a C-130 in the desert outside of Tucson.
The mission was to help train C-130 crews to develop survival stategies in a low-level environment where hostile fighters
are present. Whatever caused the crash - they ejected - but just outside of the ejection envelope. If I remember correctly, JJ's
chute opened, but not in time to fill. Wes's drogue chute was out, but that was all. Both of these friends are still missed. |
