A Short Video From Atop The Navy Lodge
Before heading out to Saturday's dinner we all met on the rooftop patio of the Navy Lodge for more visiting and drinks.
Thanks to Mongo for
sending this this bit of history about the I-Bar. The name of the bar is "The World Famous I-Bar." It's been there for a very long time. They just did a extensive renovation before the reunion. During the renovation they peeled back some old veneer wall panel & found an old mirror with a bunch of squadron stickers / decals dating back as far as WWII. As I was checking it out for the first time I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the 194th Griffin decal smack dab in the middle. That mirror has been covered up for many decades. Who know how long ago it was put there. A bunch of the Navy folks thought it was a Navy Squadron until I set them straight. |

Our farewell dinner was at Peohe's, overlooking the bay. Sadly, we had to part the next morning. I think everyone is really looking forward to our next reunion.
