Your basic Stanford law student in 1962 The magazine cover is the 1963 issue of the Moffett NAS base directory. On the left is the F-86L parked in front of Base Ops at Moffett. BG Les Smith, Wing Commander, kept it there for training purposes. A grad student at Stanford also used it A Fresno F-86 A Fresno F-86L returning to Hill AFB after firing rockets at a T-33 towed Delmar target over the Utah Firing Range

A Fresno T-33 turning for Initial at Hamilton in the Bay Area Maj Gen Hall was the the Commander of the Calif ANG for 5 1/2 yrs, and the only weekender to hold that position. He was still qualified as a C-130 pilot until the end of the first Iraq war when he retired. Cont'd... In 1968 Bob transferred from Fresno to Hayward where he flew the U-10 and C-130. That airplane later went to Moffett Field where he continued to fly. As of this writing (2026), Bob is 91 going on 92 and still going strong. He still stays in touch with the Guard through Howdy. Bob passed along a bit of advice that most of are acutely aware of, and that is
"Hang onto and enjoy youth."
